Chance McDermott, Psy.D.
Dr. McDermott is a postdoctoral fellow at the Fowler Institute. He graduated from Hendrix College with a B.A. in Psychology (With Distinction). He then earned his Psy.D. in Clinical and School Psychology at James Madison University, where he received specialized training in the psychological assessment and treatment of anxiety, suicidal ideation, and depression. Dr. McDermott completed his pre-doctoral internship at the University of South Carolina’s Counseling and Psychiatry program, where he gained further experience in treating substance abuse, attention difficulties, and trauma. Dr. McDermott has special interests in mindfulness-based stress reduction, neurodiversity, sleep/dreaming, and socio-emotional motivation.
